Jason Miller and Dr. Angela Logan - During Lent, we've been reflecting on our own capacity to work against God's kingdom. We've also been reading Jemar Tisby's "The Color of Compromise" to reflect on the American Church's complicity in racism as an application of this big idea. As we celebrate Holy Thursday and approach the events of Jesus' passion, our lead pastor, Jason, sat down for a conversation with Dr. Angela Logan to discuss their experiences reading the book.

2.28 [TEACHING] We Are Not Always Heroes (wk 1): Cain
Saturday Feb 27, 2021
Saturday Feb 27, 2021
Jason Miller - It’s inspiring to look to the heroes of Scripture and imagine what we might have in common with them. But what about the villains? When we see characters in these stories who rebel against God, who work against love, who resist the truth, or who participate in injustice, should we stand at a distance and judge them? Or could we identify with them? And if so, could we learn to leave some bad patterns behind and get on with the way of living that Jesus calls us to? This week, we consider Cain, the first mention of "sin" in Scripture, and the problems we face when someone else has the blessing.
